Manitoba Randonneurs 2007 Populaire & Brevet Series

Ride Dates and Start Locations:

• Intro & Warm up Ride – April 1 (Sunday) 1:00 PM
    
Start location- Birds Hill Park, East Beach parking lot
    No Time limit, 3 to 4 loops.

• 50 km Populaire – April 7 (Saturday) 1:00 PM
    
Start location- Legion, Perimeter & Henderson
    Lockport, beyond & return
    No Time limit

• 75 km Populaire April 15 (Sunday) 10:00 am
   
 Start location- Assiniboine Park Duck Pond
    St Francis & return
    No Time limit

• 100 km Populaire April 21 (Saturday) 10:00 am
    
Start location- Henderson Hwy North Parking Lot
    Selkirk & return
    No Time limit

• 200 km- April 28 (Saturday) 7:00 am
   
 Start location- Shell: Perimeter & Pembina
    Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
    Time limit 13.5 hours

• 300 km & 200 km - May 5 (Saturday) 6:00 am
     Start location- 7/11 McIvor and Henderson Hwy
     *200 & 300 will start together & follow same route for 1st 130 km
     Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
     Time limit 13.5 hours 200km - 20 hours 300km

• 300 km- May 12 (Saturday) 5:00 am
     
Start location- Shell: Perimeter & Pembina
     Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
     Time limit 20 hours

• 400 km- May 26 (Saturday/Sunday) 4:00 am
    
Start location- Shell Perimeter and Pembina.
    Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
    Time limit 27 hours

• 400 km- June 2 (Saturday/Sunday) 4:00 am
    
Start location- Shell Perimeter and Pembina. Loop route
    Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
    Time limit 27 hours

• 600 km- June 9 6:00 am
    
Start location- TBD
    Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
    Time limit 40 hours

• 1000 km- July 6 – 9 6:00 am
    
Start location- Oak Bluff Petro Can Perimeter and McGillivray
    Map to be distributed at registration at the start of the event
    Time limit 75 hours

• 1200 km- Aug 20 – 24
    
Start location- St. Quentin-en-Yveline, France
    Time limit 90 hours
    > Qualifying requirements- successful completion of 200km, 300km, 400km, and 600km certified brevets in 2007
    > Entries open June 30 and close July 15 www.paris-brest-paris.org

Required Equipment:
• Helmets for all distances.
• White Front light/red rear light for all distances 300 km and over.
• Reflective Vests for all distances 300 km and over.
• Carry proper identification at all times.
• The 400 km route travels to the United States, photo ID including Birth Certificate or Passport will be required at the border.

Rides are NOT supported. Therefore, be prepared to care for your self. Vehicles will not be allowed to follow the riders, outside support may be taken at designated control points.
All rides start on time- rain, snow or shine (prepare for the worst, hope for the best).

100km & Lower distance Rides:
There is no cost for rides up to and including the 100k ride. Participating cyclists will be required to sign a waiver.

For all Randonneur rides: (200km and greater)
Route cards will be handed our up to 15 minutes prior to the start time- please be early. Route cards must be signed at a business establishment in the designated control towns. If you arrive prior to the open time, you must wait for the time before proceeding. If you arrive after the close time, your ride will not be certified. Upon completion of the ride, mail or drop off the card within 2 days to the following address:

The cards will be certified and returned to you at the end of the season. Super Randonneur medals will be awarded to all riders completing the series of 200, 300, 400 and 600km rides in the same year.
Medals may be requested for each of the distances, medals will be $6.00 each.

Ride Costs: $10.00 per brevet or $25.00 for the season. **Riders must be at least 18 years of age**
