What is winnipeg-city-bicyclist-l?
Created in 1999, winnipeg-city-bicyclist-l is an email list intended for the discussion of issues related to cycling the streets and paths of Winnipeg. The list is sponsored and administered by the Recreation and Transportation Committee of the Manitoba Cycling Association.
What is an email list?
An email list is a community of like-minded individuals who share discussions and information on a given topic via email. You can join in by subscribing to the list (see below). When someone "posts" a new message by sending it to the list address, the list server resends a copy of it to everyone currently subscribed to the list. Recipients then have the option of replying privately to the original sender, or posting publicly to the entire list membership.
Subscribe/Unsubscribe to the list:
There are two ways to subscribe to the list:
Individual Message Mode: Entering your email address in the box below will cause each message to be emailed to you individually, as soon as they are posted by the sender.
Digest Mode: If you wish to receive a compilation of messages in a single email sent once per day, please see the Info file for digest subscription details.
To subscribe in individual message mode, send a blank email to: winnipeg-city-bicyclist-l-subscribe@topica.com (remember, send the subscribe email from the address you wish the list emails to be sent to)
To subscribe to digest mode, send a blank email to: winnipeg-city-bicyclist-l-subscribe-digest@topica.com
To switch to digest once you are subscribed, send a blank email to: winnipeg-city-bicyclist-l-request-digest@topica.com
To switch from digest to individual mode, send a blank email to: winnipeg-city-bicyclist-l-request-messages@topica.com
Unsubscribe from the list: The most reliable way to be removed from the list is to use the Unsubscribe link found at the bottom of any message.

5) The list owner reserves the right to remove any user from the list who breaks these rules or engages in any other list activity deemed to be inappropriate by the list owner.6) Please turn off your "out of office automatic email reply" when on vacation or unsubscribe (temporarily) so the entire list is not subject to such, every time there is a posting.

The Recreation and Transportation Committee of the MCA is made up of volunteers interested in promoting the joy of safe cycling as a healthy and environmentally-responsible form of transport and leisure-time fun. Examples of our work includes:
- Map and Routes Project (funded by all 3 levels of government to create a 110-km bike route system and a cyclist's map of Winnipeg)
- represented cyclists' interests to many civic projects
- Earth Day booth at The Forks
